Trilogy: Movie Treatments and Graphic Novels

How does the graphic artist render Valvolino character such that it is similar throughout the trilogy's reincarnations? Oh well, that's just one of the talent traits of my graphic designer partner.

Generally, a movie appeal hinges on the characters, actions or ideally both. The appeal of the shorter graphic novel form hinges on characters' rendering. Their movements and background scenery depends on the selection of key story moments. Not an easy feat, unless it is done in close cooperation between the writer and designer. And hopefully a personality match. This sounds like an introduction to an ad for finding a graphic artist, and it is. In looking for one, I asked my wife first (she is a painter, not her day job though) then friends, some of whom I remembered as talented illustrators; their first question caught me off guard: What graphic style, do you want?
So, back to Mother Internet for searches, I’ve found a universe of styles and selected some that kind of jive with the spirit of the common themes in my trilogy: war, love, religion and the power of mind in terms in imagination, science and possibly universal consciousness. Artistically though, the most intriguing graphic approach would be to have a style for each of the three periods. I may be daydreaming but here is an example:
